2019 Social Media Image Size Guide
“Cover Image Size for Facebook” or “Pinterest Pin Size” are two of my top search queries on Google… no joke! I really wanted to have all my graphics sizing in one place, so I decided to create a little cheat sheet and share it with you! Here are all the social media image sizes that you need (as of 2019):
Anyone who uses facebook knows that images are important for engaging with audiences. Posts with images get a much higher level of engagement! Make sure your images are the right size to prevent cutting off important information.
Cover Photo: 815 x 315 pixels
Profile Photo: 180 x 180 pixels
In Post Images: 1200 x 630 pixels
Link Images: 1200 x 627 pixels
Link Carousel: 300 x 300 pixels
For feed placement: Facebook recommend square 1:1 for images and vertical 4:5 for videos
For stories placements: Most people hold their phones vertically so Facebook recommend full screen vertical 9:16 to capture the whole screen.
For video carousel format: Facebook recommend square 1:1 and consistent ratios for all videos in a carousel.
For in-stream video: Facebook recommend full screen horizontal 16:9 to fit the videos the ads are in.
Audience Network placements: Facebook recommend full screen vertical 9:16, except for Audience Network in-stream videos for which we recommend full screen horizontal 16:9.
Instagram images are less about sizes and more about ratio. The sizing that I have suggested is what I personally use, and recommend for the best quality when scaling. This allows users to see quality content, non matter what device they are using.
Use quality graphics like these to stand out in people’s Instagram feeds.
Profile Photo: 110 x 110 pixels
Stories: 1080 x 1920 pixels
Standard Square Post: 1080 x 1080 pixels
Landscape Post: 1080 x 566 pixels
Portrait Post: 1080 x 1350 pixels
Pins that do well on Pinterest are usually vertical. Your Pinterest feed is constantly filled with images, so it is important to make sure your graphics stand out. You can adjust these quality graphics to match your branding and stand out on other's feeds.
Landscape pins do not perform as well as vertical images on Pinterest, so your images should be longer than they are wide.
Profile Photo: 165 x 165 pixels
Board Cover: 200 x 200 pixels
Pin: 600 x 900 pixels
Cover: 1500 x 500 pixels
Profile Photo: 400 x 400 pixels
Tweet Image: 440 x 220 pixels
Youtube imaging can make a huge difference in whether or not your video will be viewed. Similar to Pinterest, Youtube's feed can get cluttered, so it's important that your graphics stand out.

Profile Picture 800 x 800 pixels
