How to Schedule 30 Days Worth of Instagram Content + Free Caption Guide!
Have you ever gone to post on Instagram and all of a sudden... you're speechless? Trust me, I've been there! That's why I've gone ahead and written out these strategies to prevent writers block and help you increase your engagement.
WRITE OUT YOUR CAPTIONS AND PASTE YOUR HASHTAGS
When I am coming up with content for the month ahead, I first decide how many posts that I want up during that month. I personally post twice a week on Monday and Friday. So that's around 8 posts per month. To be able to spark ideas for captions I spilt my posts into categories. They look a little something like this:
Week 1: Monday - Blog Post
Week 1: Friday - Inspiration
Week 2: Monday - Personal/About Me
Week 2: Friday - Community Engagement
Week 3: Monday - Resource Promotion
Week 3: Friday - Encouragement (Shining light on someone within the community. This idea was inspired by With Hannah Murphy)
Week 4: Monday - Inspiration
Week 4: Friday - Community Engagement
I have created a table in which I have these categories, listed for the month and an empty cell next to them. In these cells I create captions accordingly. Click here for free caption inspiration.
I save my hashtags in Tailwind in 4 groups and rotate between them each post. Tailwind suggests hashtags that suit your post and your brand, so you can manually input these specific to each post as well.
GATHER YOUR CONTENT
When I schedule my content, I flip between caption writing and image creation. Sometimes you need a visual aspect to inspire a caption, so if I haven't filled in all the cells, I go and look for content. Within my feed, I try to have a mix of brand photos, stock photography (I love using Unsplash), and graphics that I've created on canva.
USE A SCHEDULING APP
I love being able to schedule a month's worth of content in advance and visually see what it will all look like. To schedule out content for free, you can use programs like Later, Planoly or Plann. My personal favourite is Tailwind because it allows you to easily post emojis from your computer, it automatically posts the hashtags in the first comment, and it tells you which hashtags you should use. All for free! You can use the desktop version of the app to plan out your feed and schedule posts. Scheduling automatic posts to Instagram via programs like Tailwind means that you don't have to stop what you're doing to post.
SCHEDULE YOUR POSTS TO AUTO-PUBLISH
Guess what! Hit schedule and you're done! Now that your posts have been scheduled, you can reset your focus to what brings you joy! Scheduling your content at the beginning of the month is such a time saver. Even though you have set your posts to auto-publish, I suggest heading into the Instagram app to engage with your audience and respond to comments. Congratulations - you've just scheduled a month's worth of content!
