Branding for Lennie & Boston

Creative Brief

Client: Lennie & Boston
Project: Brand Identity Design
Objective: Lennie & Boston create and restore bespoke costumes, vintage clothing and historical attire. They needed a brand identity that reflected their love for the past while appealing to a modern audience. The design had to blend vintage charm with contemporary polish, using muted tones and elegant typography to convey a sense of timeless craftsmanship.

Challenge

The primary challenge was to craft a visual identity that evoked historical authenticity without appearing outdated. The branding had to resonate with clients passionate about costume and history, while still feeling fresh, stylish, and professional.

Solution

Design Language: A custom wordmark with classic script typography was developed to reflect heritage and artistry. Its delicate curves nod to vintage signage and handwritten labels, while a subtle texture adds a time-worn character.

Colour Palette: Blues, a soft blush pink and warm mustard gold were selected to balance femininity and richness; modern yet rooted in period aesthetics.

Secondary Logo: A circular emblem version of the logo was created for stamps, labels, and packaging. It includes the tagline “Historical Attire & Bespoke Costumes,” reinforcing the brand’s niche and adding a professional seal-like touch. This can also be swapped out for “Vintage Attire & Bespoke Costumes.”

Versatility: The branding was designed to be functional across digital and physical mediums—from garment tags and packaging to social media and website use.
